Energy is one of those things that is everywhere; it has its place firmly rooted in our lives at every angle from the deepest scientific base to the most elevated esoteric realms… but I feel like we need to have more deliberate conversations about it - like on a real!
There is detachment from the recognition that the energy that we talk about in terms of fuelling our homes is part of the same system that tells us how we feel about people or places even though we might not be able to explain why. It’s intuitive nudges and the really serious science but if you aren’t connected with communities that openly talk about frequency and vibration you may think the non science stuff is ‘woo-woo’ even though the language overlaps. Let’s also remember that we - the human literally have electricity running through us….
We live in times that on the one hand make such mind blowing advances in technology, virtual connection and instant communication that kept much of life going through the lockdowns and on the other, we struggle to stay connected to our inner worlds, tormented by incessant thoughts, bound by robotic like schedules that demand we keep pace with non stop technology. Intertwined in these paradoxes lies the ancient wisdom that continues to remain true whether or not we ‘subscribe’ to it. We are much more than the things we can see, touch and explain. We experience life on expanded levels that defy logic, we have the capability to sense through the body and under and beyond cerebral explanation the unspoken world of energy.
Have you ever had a ‘feeling” in your gut, a sense about something, an idea or visceral reaction that popped in? Maybe you fully registered it, maybe you noticed it quickly and then ‘thought’ (i.e. it went to your mind after the feeling was there) pushed against it as you tried to make sense of it and the reasoning took you out of what you felt, or maybe you didn’t even get as far as that, but you realised upon reflection that you should have listened to the ‘feeling’ because what it was trying to tell you turned out to be correct…. That stuff there is energy speaking to you. It is letting you know on a deeper sensory level what your mind can’t compute about a person, the world around you or a decision; it’s filling in the blanks on all levels of your consciousness and human experience. But because this is not part of the way we have been shown to live, or because living is so much about fitting in and doing the right things according to well anyone else but you, you have got used to dismissing these unspoken feelings and have learned not to trust yourself.
The thing is, the vibes NEVER lie, they never lead us astray, they always guide us towards the next steps, the ones we may not even know we need, the ones we probably won’t understand until hindsight brings 20/20 vision. And that’s how experiential we as humans are designed to be, to think the things, to learn, to remember, to grow and expand and to feel all the feels - it just wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t meant to be part of our life experience. Talking ourselves out of these knowings shows how far we have been inducted into experiencing our energy through the masculine energy lens.
Masculine and feminie energy exist everywhere in the universe - the plants, flowers, animals, circuit boards - everywhere. We need both of these expressions of energy and within every one of us these dual energies also have life but how easy we find it to identify them is dependent on our awareness and sensitivity to our energy. The absence of open acknowledgement and generally believed truths about sensory energy experiences (the woo woo not the serious science) can make this trickier. If we think about our mascuine energy as what we do & think, give, act, protect, put out, push towards and outwardly create and our feminie energy as what we feel, receive, nurture, bring in, surrender to and create within can you see where the constructs of western culture favour the masculine? The phallicly shaped buildings abound, busyness, striving, forcing, constant movement is celebrated. Rest is demonised as ‘lazy’, no days off, 24/7 hustle culture is a prize, boss babes are celebrated as a standard way to do things. Never mind that the world of work in which we have had to participate in is modelled to exclude the realities of raising families and by default or design women of childbearing age who choose to indulge in having a family (as though it is an entirely unilateral decision) will always be penalised for following this calling of nature. Unless you happen to exist in a dynamic which financially allows you to fully lean back into motherhood without money being an issue, the subtle messaging is, be a mother, but do it more like a man. If you want to have it all, be prepared to push, strive and struggle in order to live the dream forgetting (or maybe not) that it is assumed that men don’t have the burden or responsibility for the family in the same way women do (but this is a whole other story) and because of this women are shooed into essentially squashing out the feminie energy approach as a matter of survival.
If we were more open to bringing these conversations into the way we work, the way we set up structures and create systems we could find more flexible, realistic and holistic ways of addressing life. We could be influenced by the spectrum instead of those who had more might or a louder voice to begin with. Taking the understanding of energy into the workplace is also a power move - understanding diverse needs, skills, the expressions of energy in a team and how that converges in the unit can change the whole functionality in a more pain free way, so let’s be open to having the energy conversations.
The women in my world consistently have been unconsciously indoctrinated into wounded masculine energy expression, (the overreliance on living from this energy) at the expense of wellbeing, thriving and healthful nervous system activation. It’s not exclusive to women, toxic masculinity is a part of the puzzle, as is the converse of the feminie. As long as energy is banished from common parlance and not owned as a truth of being we continue to deny our humanness and therefore abandon easier ways of evolving than our beautiful minds alone can offer us. I’m a fan of having these conversations repeatedly so that it becomes easier to talk about these things (particularly if there is hesitation because of what others may think) because I also know that the energy of the conversion begins to permeate the collective energy and through this offer another way to live…
